A Titan Security Global Corporate Security Case Study

The Contract

We are pleased to have been contracted by a global data centre provider to deliver a professional security solution for one of its facilities in Colombia.

The assignment is to provide an around‑the‑clock security team, with one licensed unarmed security officer always on duty for 24/7 coverage. Initially for a twelve‑month term, there is the potential for extension and expansion.

Because the client operates critical digital infrastructure, the security service goes beyond front‑of‑house duties. The role includes access control, incident response, physical and virtual CCTV patrols, security equipment fault reporting, key management, and close coordination with on‑site staff to protect the facility and support health and safety standards.

The Client

The client is a global data centre operator serving businesses that rely on secure, reliable digital infrastructure. While the organisation cannot be named due to an NDA, the environment is similar to that of other high‑security data centres, where physical security, tight access control, and fast incident response are essential for service continuity and client reputation.

Requirements

The site covers approximately 113,000 to 115,000 square feet. In a facility of this size, the security officer must balance a visible presence on the floor with ongoing monitoring from the security office when not actively patrolling.

Responsibilities

The officer’s responsibilities cover both day‑to‑day physical security and the wider security management expected in a modern data centre. Core duties include:

  • Conducting routine site patrols
  • Managing access control for visitors, contractors, and employees using the client’s access control system
  • Responding quickly to on‑site issues and escalating incidents when needed
  • Completing door and camera checks after maintenance work and updating digital tickets
  • Checking alarmed doors and responding to any related security alarms
  • Managing building keys and keeping clear records of their use
  • Working with site staff to protect the data centre and support health and safety procedures
  • Escorting visitors or employees when required, including escorts off‑site when necessary
  • Monitoring CCTV and other security systems from the security office
  • A responsibility for raising system tickets for any malfunctioning security equipment
  • Identifying weaknesses in the security setup and suggesting practical improvements
  • Briefing incoming staff during handover
  • Assisting during fire alarms and other on‑site emergencies

Patrol Structure

To maintain a consistent security presence across the full day, the site uses a patrol schedule that combines physical and virtual checks:

Patrol typeFrequencyDaily totalOperational purpose
Physical patrols1 every 4 hours6 tours per 24 hoursVerifies on-site conditions, door status, alarm points, and physical integrity across the facility.
Virtual patrols3 times per 24 hours3 patrol cyclesSupports surveillance-led checks through camera systems and complements physical coverage.

This mix of physical and camera‑based virtual patrols creates layered protection across the site. It also ensures that monitoring continues even when the officer is in the security office, which is important in environments where access requests, alarms, and equipment issues can occur at any time.

Considerations

All security officers assigned are locally licensed and meet the legal requirements for private security work in Colombia, where security and surveillance services operate under formal regulation. The role demands a cohesive team that can move fluidly between patrols, control‑room monitoring, access administration, and emergency response.

Expected Outcomes

This project will show that with the right blend of security guarding and security technology, even a single duty officer can provide total security. Continuous coverage, a clear patrol structure, controlled access, and precise incident reporting combine to provide the necessary levels of protection.

This provides a proven baseline for adding further security officers or expansion to other sites, and we are standing by to strengthen and expand our business relationship with this important client.
