Close Protection and Secure Transport in Ecuador: A Case Study
We were recently contracted by a British company to provide an armed close protection officer and driver team to safeguard 2 of their staff members on a combined business and leisure trip to Ecuador.
The Problem
Travelling in Ecuador can be risky. Expats, diplomats, CEOs, and high-net-worth individuals are prime targets for kidnap, extortion, and armed robbery.
Our client needed a deliberately overt armed presence to deter criminals and gangs and escort the business travellers wherever they went.
The Solution
Our armed driver and close protection team wore military-style uniforms with an open display of weapons.
We provided armed airport pickup and secure onward travel using a 4×4 utility vehicle able to handle rough terrain.
Our officers were with the clients for 10 hours per day, escorting them to and from hotels to business meetings, sightseeing trips and visits to restaurants and other leisure facilities.
The Outcome
The trip was enjoyable and successful, with the clients consistently reassured by the level of protection provided for them.
